Tamasyn Gambell...

One of the amAzing gifts that I received last month was a beautiful vintage silk scarf from Tamasyn Gambell... The scarves are all sourced, then screen-printed, to create striking new designs and give an old piece a new lease of life!

'It is the company's belief that style does not have to suffer in order to be environmentally friendly. Designers should all be working with eco friendly methods without compromising style or quality'.

All the scarves are hand-printed, using organic dyestuffs, and water based ink in Tamasyn's London studio. Her notebooks are made in Britain using paper from a one-hundred year old paper mill, and bound by a South England based bookbinders... As well as all this lovely ethical-ness, Tamasyn also supports an Indian Welfare Project in Kerala. Through education and rehabilitation, the project aims to teach trade skills, and provide housing and health care for disabled young adults.

My scarf is a stunning blend of blues, pinks and greens, with a nostalgic print of two little girls and flowers. The combination of the old and the new works seamlessly, and it's impossible to tell that this isn't how the scarf was originally designed. It's so pretty I think I'm going to frame it!
